Residency in Uruguay
Information about the residency process in Uruguay
Uruguay offers Permanent Residency, and a 3-business-day visit is required.
Required documents:
- Birth certificate with apostille
- Marriage certificate with apostille
- Antecedentes penales con apostilla (tanto del país de nacimiento como de cualquier país donde hayas residido durante más de 6 meses en los últimos 5 años)
- Criminal record certificate with apostille (from both the country of birth and any country where you have resided for more than 6 months in the last 5 years)
- Tetanus vaccination certificate (a document issued abroad is sufficient)
- Women: last Pap smear or HPV test and mammogram (mandatory for women aged 50-69)
Livelihoods: Each applicant must justify income exceeding USD 1,000 per month, which can come, for example, from a salary or from renting a property.
All these documents must be ready at the time of the appointment at Immigration, but the appointment must be booked in advance.
