PERMANENT RESIDENCE AND ID

For a few years, we have been managing residencies and certificates for foreigners arriving in Paraguay. There are several ways to obtain residency in Paraguay. Who can obtain the Paraguayan Permanent Residence and/or ID?

Any foreigner who is in Paraguay as a tourist can start his or her permanent residence procedure.
It is not necessary to meet a minimum of continuous permanence to obtain Paraguayan residency and ID, but the person will be required to appear personally before the Immigration Department to request residency and then appear at the Identification Department to obtain the Paraguayan ID.

In order to constitute an Incorporated Business, it is necessary to have more than 2 partners (shareholders). If the client does not have any, they can obtain a RUC (Unique Taxpayer Registry) and thus be able to issue invoices anyway.

It is important that our clients tell us under what brand they will want to register their Company so that we can check if the name is available.
While the client is busy at his or her residence process, we send a draft of the Company Bylaws. In this way we assure that by the time the client finishes with their residence procedures, they will be able to sign the Bylaws as well.

It is important to clarify that any foreigner can be a shareholder of a Paraguayan Corporation, but only with the Paraguayan Permanent Residence and/or Paraguayan ID will be able to act as Director of the Company.

We provide our clients with a tax address so that they can file with various public, and private, institutions such as banks.

We accompany the client in the process of opening bank accounts in Paraguay, with top-level international banks.

The client visits the institution, fills out the forms and we take care of the follow up process. Banking in Paraguay is very stable, as is its official currency, the Guaraní.

The client will be able to open accounts both in guaraníes and dollars.
